A music festival on Ethereum
For many, attending a concert by their favorite artist will remain inaccessible this summer. But for residents of Decentraland (MANA), an Ethereum (ETH) -based play-to-earn game, it will be a reality. Launched in February 2020, Decentraland is a virtual reality game that allows users to buy and sell digital plots. The owners can then build buildings and businesses on these lands.
Sunday July 11 at 8 p.m., Decentraland will host “TO THE MOON”, a music and art festival. This is a collaboration between the non-fungible token marketplace (NFT) KnownOrigin, the Illumino collective and the company BEAR NFT.
The festival will be held at the virtual headquarters of KnownOrigin in Decentraland and will feature performances by electronic music groups such as Ookay, SNBRN, Fred Thurst (aka Dr Fresch), Autograf and Win & Woo.
The organizers promise the distribution of exclusive gifts in the form of NFTs. Furthermore, participants will receive a POAP (Proof of Attendance Protocol) virtual token that they can display on their Decentraland profile. They will also be able to purchase exclusive skins, including a jacket and hat.
Soon a shopping center?
In June, a plot in Decentraland’s virtual world sold for $ 913,808. This is a sales record for a digital field. Comprised of 259 units or “plots” of land, the lot represents 66,304 virtual square meters, which also makes it the largest purchase of Decentraland land in terms of size.

This plot will host “Metajuku”, a virtual shopping district which will have several tenants, including Dress-X and Tribute Brand, which will exclusively sell digital items there.
