The project of Axelar interoperability network aims above all to facilitate the transfers of crypto-assets and the sharing of information between the main blockchain networks. Axelar’s teams today announced the launch of its Mainnet for February 2022.
Axelar: more than a bridge, a real crossroads between blockchains
The need forinteroperability between the different blockchain networks is one of the main keys to the mass adoption of cryptocurrencies. The Axelar project comes to fill this need. He created a network dedicated to making the exchanges between the various crypto networks transparent and intuitive.
This January 11, 2022, Axelar announces it on its site official. The public version of its decentralized interoperability network will be deployed from the month of February 2022. Connectivity between many blockchain networks is already specified there. For the launch, it will firstly allow the transfers of assets and information between Ethereum (ETH), Avalanche (AVAX), Terra (LUNA), Fantom (FTM) and Moonbeam.
” Starting from February, Axelar’s mainnet will universally and securely connect several stand-alone blockchain ecosystems. They will thus provide a key infrastructure for the Web3. Developers and their decentralized applications will be able to rely on Axelar to unleash the full potential of several ecosystems (…) Our ultimate goal is to allow creators and users to interact and build on any blockchain network that meets their needs. needs. We need to ensure compatibility and the flow of information with all other ecosystems and between all users. (…) ”
Sergey Gorbunov, CEO and co-founder of Axelar
New “inter-blockchain” development tools thanks to the mainnet
A small revolution accompanies the launch of Axelar’s main network. It brings new APIs (programming interfaces) as well as an SDK (development kit). They will allow create applications that are both decentralized (dApps) and interoperable. Axelar teams are directly developing one of these dApps called Satellite. It will allow users of different blockchains to transfer their assets between networks.
“Axelar has built a very impressive solution which allows developers to build on blockchain networks that directly match their goals, while providing an easy-to-use platform suitable for any programming language. (…) Axelar’s universal interoperability network will have a significant impact on how blockchain ecosystems communicate and interact. Ultimately, it is a technology like this that will allow the adoption of blockchains and Web3 by the general public. “
Do Kwon, founder and CEO of Terraform Labs
In addition to the blockchains already mentioned, other integrations are already in the testing phase. In particular those of the networks Polygon (MATIC), Polkadot (DOT) and Cosmos (ATOM).
The Axelar project was also successful with a series A fundraising of 25 million dollars in 2021. It therefore seems gain the confidence of many major players. With the launch of its mainnet, Here it is on the right track for a successful operational development. Everyone will be able to participate in this success, thanks to the Community program “Quantum”, which will allow those concerned to contribute to the development and adoption of Axelar.
